Guided by the 7th Cooperative Principle, Concern for Community, SCEC is committed to supporting the people and organizations that make our rural area a better place to live and work.  The Concern for Community Program was established to give back to local organizations through the proceeds of the discounting process of early paid out capital credits, reinforcing our dedication to the communities we serve.

A dedicated committee, with one representative from each of our seven districts, carefully reviews applications to ensure funds are used responsibly and effectively. To maintain accountability, grants are available only to organizations with proper accounting procedures in place—ensuring that every dollar is spent with purpose and integrity. Through this program, we remain committed to building on our past while lighting the way to the future, strengthening the communities we serve one grant at a time.

A seven-member committee, with one representative from each of our districts, oversees the Concern for Community Program. The committee meets quarterly to review submitted applications, ensuring funds are awarded responsibly to organizations that enhance our rural communities. Approved grants are dispersed on a quarterly basis, reinforcing our commitment to making a lasting impact.
