Purpose
Sumner-Cowley Electric has a vested interest in southcentral Kansas youth and encourages students to continue their education after high school. Our goal is to support the development of effective leaders through educational opportunities.
Since 2011, Sumner-Cowley Electric has awarded more than $90,000 in scholarships to area students who demonstrate excellence in the classroom and in the community. In 2021, 21 students were awarded with scholarships totaling $10,500.
Scholarship Eligibility

Current high school seniors graduating in 2024

Parents/Guardians are members of Sumner-Cowley Electric Cooperative, Inc.

Must plan to enroll as a full-time student in an accredited university or college including junior, community, vocational or technical college
Scholarship Criteria
Scholarship merit is based on two categories: scholastic achievement and extra-curricular activities.
Applications must be received on or before Wednesday - March 11, 2024. Recipients are requested to attend the Sumner-Cowley Electric Cooperative annual meeting in April to receive their scholarship.
