What to Expect Before You Begin
Welcome to Sumner-Cowley Electric’s Scholarship online application process! SCEC will award scholarships to applicants who meet the eligibility requirements and are selected by the Scholarship Committee. The scholarships are for individuals enrolled as full-time students in a post-secondary degree or certification program.
- Applicant's parents or legal guardian must be a member of Sumner-Cowley Electric Cooperative and be receiving electric service.
- Applicant must meet the academic and any other requirements for entrance into their accredited school of their choice.
- Application must be completed by Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 5 p.m.
Applicants should carefully review and fill out each step of the online application.
Please note this online application form is intended to guide an applicant step-by-step through the application process. The form requires the applicant to complete each step before moving to the next. However, applicants will be able to go back to previous steps. The application form requires ALL form fields be completed and any documents uploaded before the final application can be submitted. An unfinished application CANNOT be saved, and any information will be lost if an applicant exits the application form before submitting the final application.
Important Note Because an applicant cannot save this application form once you begin and before your final application is submitted, applicants are encouraged to gather and prepare any necessary materials, such as your resume and Sumner-Cowley Electric account information before starting the application process. In addition, we recommend applicants draft the essay and the biographical statement in a Microsoft Word or other separate document and then copy and paste the text onto the corresponding form field. This gives an applicant the opportunity to review and edit the essay and/or biographical statement for any spelling or grammatical errors and serve as a fail-safe in the event the application times out and must be resubmitted.
*Family members (as defined by SCEC's Bylaws and Policies is a person who, by blood or in-law, including half, foster, step or adoptive kin is either a spouse, child, grandchild, parent, grandparent, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, nephew or niece) of SCEC Board of Directors and employees are not eligible to participate in the scholarship competition.*
