July 2017 Bill Adjustment for Sumner County Residents

Attention Sumner County residents:

On April 1, 2017, Sumner County implemented a 0.5% sales tax increase. All Sumner-Cowley Electric Cooperative members residing in Sumner County should have seen this increase reflected in the amount of taxes paid starting with their May 2017 bill.

Due to a billing error, this sales tax increase was not reflected in the May and June 2017 bills seen by Sumner County residents. This means that Sumner County residents were not billed the proper tax amount by Sumner-Cowley Electric Cooperative.

In order to correct this, Sumner-Cowley issued an adjustment to each Sumner County resident’s July 2017 bill. This adjustment is listed a ‘Balance Prior to this Billing’ on each bill.

Please note that this adjustment is not subject to late fees or disconnection of service.

Sumner-Cowley Electric apologizes for this inconvenience and any confusion it may have caused. If you have any questions, please contact our office at 888-326-3356.
